blinkx AdHoc rewards you for sharing videos. Next time you embed a video from a video-sharing site, simply run the embed code through blinkx AdHoc first to start making money. When you add the embedded video, it will have contextually relevant ads placed near or on it. If your viewers click on these ads, the advertiser pays blinkx, and blinkx will share 50% of that revenue with you.
We plan to support most of them. At the moment, we've tested the following and know they work: MySpace, GoogleVideo, YouTube, Revver, Metacafe, Veoh, DailyMotion, Break, FunnyOrDie, Vimeo, JibJab, iFilm, and CollegeHumor. If you know of another sharing site that you'd like us to support, just email us at adhoc@blinkx.com. Remember, it has to be a site that supports embedding for it to work with the system. Unfortunately we are unable to support www.ning.com at this time.
Our goal is to support all popular blogging platforms and social networks. If you have found a site that's not compatible with AdHoc, please let us know at adhoc@blinkx.com
Very little! To create an account, all you need is an email address, password, and PayPal email address. You must have a PayPal account in order for us to pay you once you start making money. You can register for a PayPal account at http://www.paypal.com.
blinkx's AdHoc technology looks for relevant ads and only shows those that it predicts will be relevant and useful for your viewers. As a result, there will be times when there are few or even no ads shown, and you won't make money. However, we believe that, in the long term, keeping your viewers happy and engaged is more important, so we aren't going to waste their time with irrelevant and annoying promotions.
We leverage ads from multiple sources including a number of PPC networks and also affiliate marketing sites. We also have a dedicated team looking for new, better ads that pay well, so you can maximize your returns and keep your audience happy. If you want to advertise on AdHoc you can do so directly on this site.
blinkx pays users in $20 increments, so once you've made your first $20, we'll process the PayPal transaction. We'll make these payments at the end of each month, so if you're waiting to be paid please be patient you'll get it very soon!
The amount you're paid depends on two factors - the amount of clicks on the ads in your videos and the cost of each click. To improve your click-throughs, just make sure you share your video with as many people as possible. The second factor is harder to control, but blinkx has an AdHoc team that works constantly to improve our rates, so that you get to make more money. We'll get higher rates as our network grows, so spread the word and invite your friends to use AdHoc too. We round down on individual video revenue and up on your total revenue to make sure you have as accurate a view as possible on your total revenue, given that we only pay in complete $0.01 increments.
You'll get a preview of your video displaying ads once you provide us with the embed tags for the video. When you get to that stage you can also choose if you want to have ads appear above the player, or floating over the video itself (in what's known as an Overlay). You can get started with embedding right here.
We'll only ever use your details in conjunction with blinkx and blinkx AdHoc services. We will also keep the number of emails we send out to an absolute minimum.
Please find them right here.
AdHoc is designed for use with your content and other content that the copyright holder is ok with sharing. Most video-sharing sites already control this for you, removing illegal content and allowing users to disable embedding if they don't want their videos to be portable but please use your common sense in addition and make the world a better place!
We use PayPal to pay you any money that is generated by ads placed over your embedded videos.

blinkx AdHoc is the revolutionary new video advertising platform from blinkx, the video search company. AdHoc was launched earlier this year and has been used primarily for a closed beta program that has tested the effectiveness of contextually targeting ads in video.
The blinkx AdHoc widget allows regular online users to add advertising to videos they embed online. When viewers watch the videos, they are shown the ads. If the ads are clicked on, the user is diverted to a URL of the advertiser's choice and the advertiser's budget is depleted by a single cost-per-click charge. Thanks to AdHoc's targeting, widget users only get relevant, useful ads, and advertisers only have to pay when their ad actually delivers a user.
You can find out more about the blinkx AdHoc widget in this FAQ.
Anyone can advertise across the AdHoc widget network by adding a new ad here. The minimum budget is $1, and we require PayPal to handle payments to the system.
The Ad creation process is very simple. We require a title, a description (both shown on the ad), and a target URL where the interested users will be sent. Once an Ad has been created, it is necessary to fund the Ad campaign to pay for any click-thrus.
Today AdHoc supports text ads which have a title and description. In the future we will potentially introduce graphical banners and video formats. We will let you know when we introduce these if you sign up.
Your Ad spend is controlled entirely by you. You can set whatever budget you want as long as it is at least $1. You can pause your ads at any point in time.
Each click-through costs exactly $0.05. Your ad may be displayed many times, but you will be charged only when a click-through occurs.
There is currently no way to influence the AdHoc algorithm. AdHoc decides which ads are most relevant to a given video and displays them while the video is watched. If more than one ad is relevant, AdHoc cycles through the ads ensuring that all are displayed over time.
You can pause a campaign at any time for an indefinite period of time but you cannot cancel an existing campaign until the budget is depleted. We will be adding this and more budget management features soon!
blinkx processes advertising information on a daily basis. This includes checking for such things as click fraud and means your numbers will generally update around 24 hours after the event.
Many do, please email us at adhoc@blinkx.com, and if your question makes the FAQ, we'll send you an extremely attractive blinkx t-shirt that will help you make new friends and influence others*.
